The only thing you need to do to start using Leadoro is forward your phone number to your AI number. Nothing else is required.
You'll find your AI number in the sidebar of your Leadoro dashboard (the "AI Number" entry). It's unique to your account - wherever this page shows [YOUR AI NUMBER], use that exact number.
Your customers keep calling the exact same number they always have. Your carrier automatically forwards the call to your AI number according to the rules you set - based on which mode you pick in Leadoro on the Assistant → When should assistant answer? page.

Nothing changes for the caller - they still call your regular number, they don't need to install any app or know a new number.
Which mode you pick in Leadoro, and what to set up on your phone
On the Assistant page you pick one of 4 modes. Each one needs a specific call-forwarding setting on your phone - described under each card below.
Important: 3 of the 4 modes use the exact same phone setting (forward all calls, no delay) - they only differ in what we do with the call on our side. Only one mode (Missed calls only) needs a different phone setting (forward only after no answer). It's worth knowing which group your chosen mode belongs to.
1. Always answer (default)
The AI answers every single call, instantly. Your phone never rings.
Phone setting: forward all calls, no delay.
**21*[YOUR AI NUMBER]#
Good if you want Leadoro to be your main phone reception, you're away long-term, or you just want the certainty that nothing ever falls through the cracks.
2. Outside business hours
During your working hours (set in Leadoro under Settings → Working hours), the call goes to you. Outside working hours, the AI picks it up immediately - no unnecessary ringing, since we already know you're not available.
Phone setting: same as "Always answer" - forward all calls, no delay.
**21*[YOUR AI NUMBER]#
Leadoro decides whether you're currently within working hours based on your Settings → Working hours configuration. There's nothing extra to set up on your phone.
3. Missed calls + outside business hours
A combination of the two above: during working hours, we try to connect the call to you first, and the AI only takes over if you don't pick up. Outside working hours, the call goes straight to the AI.
Phone setting: same as "Always answer" - forward all calls, no delay.
**21*[YOUR AI NUMBER]#
Leadoro decides based on your Working hours and whether you answer. Nothing extra to configure on your phone.
4. Missed calls only
Your phone rings normally first. If you don't pick up within the configured time, Leadoro automatically takes over - regardless of time of day.
Phone setting: forward on no answer, with a timer of ~20-30 seconds - different from the other three modes.
**61*[YOUR AI NUMBER]**25#
0 s Phone starts ringing
10 s still ringing
20 s still ringing
25 s Leadoro takes the call
We recommend 20-30 seconds - enough time to pick up, but the caller doesn't wait too long. For even better coverage (so the AI also takes over if you're already on another call or out of signal), we also recommend activating forward on busy and forward on unreachable - see the table below.
Switching modes in the app? Note that Leadoro can't remotely change your phone's forwarding setting. If you switch from "Missed calls only" to any other mode (or back), you'll need to manually dial the matching code from the cards above on your phone.
GSM code reference
These are the international GSM/USSD standard codes. They work the same way on the vast majority of European carriers (including all three major ones in the Czech Republic) and on some US carriers - see the US section below, since US carriers unfortunately don't all follow one standard.
| Function | Activate | Deactivate | Check status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forward all calls | **21*[YOUR AI NUMBER]# | ##21# | *#21# |
| On no answer | **61*[YOUR AI NUMBER]# | ##61# | *#61# |
| On busy | **67*[YOUR AI NUMBER]# | ##67# | *#67# |
| On unreachable | **62*[YOUR AI NUMBER]# | ##62# | *#62# |
| Cancel all forwarding | ##002# | - | - |
Setting the ring duration (only for "Missed calls only")
If you want your phone to ring for a specific time first, use **61*[YOUR AI NUMBER]**time#, for example:
**61*[YOUR AI NUMBER]**20#
Your phone will ring for about 20 seconds before Leadoro takes the call. Carriers typically support 5-30 second intervals in steps of 5 seconds.
Alternative - directly in your phone's settings
Instead of GSM codes, you can also set forwarding directly in your phone's menu (works the same, just a different path):
- iPhone: Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding
- Android: Phone → Settings → Call forwarding
The exact path can vary by phone manufacturer.
US carrier notes
Heads up - codes vary significantly by carrier in the US, unlike the Czech Republic where they work identically across all three major carriers. Always double check with your specific carrier's support pages before setting this up - the details below can change.
AT&T and T-Mobile US
Both use standard GSM codes - the same logic as European carriers:
- Forward all calls:
**21*[YOUR AI NUMBER]#, deactivate##21# - On no answer:
**61*[YOUR AI NUMBER]#, deactivate##61# - On busy:
**67*[YOUR AI NUMBER]# - On unreachable:
**62*[YOUR AI NUMBER]#
Verizon
Verizon does not use the standard GSM codes - it has its own, different codes:
- Forward all calls (activate):
*72+ your AI number, deactivate:*73 - On no answer/busy:
*71+ your AI number (the exact behavior differs from the GSM standard)
If you're on Verizon, we recommend confirming the current codes directly on verizon.com or with customer support before setting this up - these have changed over time.
How much does forwarding cost?
In most cases, a simple rule applies: the caller pays exactly as if they called you directly. You only pay for the leg of the call between your number and your AI number, according to your plan. Exact terms can vary by carrier and plan.
Frequently asked questions
Will the customer know the call was forwarded? No. Nothing changes on the caller's side.
Can I still answer calls myself? Yes - for "Missed calls only" and "Missed calls + outside business hours", always. For "Outside business hours", only during your configured working hours. For "Always answer", the AI always takes the call.
Can I turn forwarding off at any time? Yes. Dial ##002# (Verizon: *73) to remove all active forwarding and send calls straight to you again.
Do I need a new phone number? No. Leadoro works with your existing phone number - that never changes, only where unanswered/all calls get forwarded to.
Why do three of the four modes need the same phone setting? Because for those three, what happens to the call (whether it goes to you or straight to the AI) is decided by Leadoro based on your Working hours - not by your phone. Your phone just needs to send every call to us; we take it from there.
What if I switch modes in the app? If you switch between any of the three modes other than "Missed calls only", you don't need to change anything on your phone - your forwarding stays the same (**21*[YOUR AI NUMBER]#), only how we handle the call changes. If you switch to or from "Missed calls only", you'll need to redial the matching code from the cards above.
