Business knowledge

How to give your assistant accurate, business-specific answers by uploading your own documents.

Business knowledge lets your assistant answer caller questions using your own documents, instead of relying only on a short instructions field or generic knowledge. This is the best source for anything stable and company-specific - price lists, service descriptions, FAQs, policies, or prepared answers.

What you can upload

Supported formats are PDF, TXT, and Markdown. Each document can be up to 20 MB, and a project can hold up to 50 documents. Text-based PDFs work well; scanned PDFs without selectable text can't currently be processed.

What happens after you upload a document

Leadoro extracts the text, splits it into meaningful passages, and indexes them for search. During a live call, when a caller asks something your instructions don't already cover, the assistant searches this index and uses the most relevant passages to answer accurately.

You can see each document's file name, size, processing status (Processing, Ready, or Error), and number of indexed passages, and delete any document individually.

Tuning search results

The number of results returned per search is configurable. More results give the assistant more context for a better answer, but also increase the amount of information - and token usage - involved in each call. Start with the default and only increase it if you notice the assistant missing relevant details.

Business knowledge is the right source for anything that describes your own business and doesn't change often. For information that changes frequently or lives outside your own documents - like current public information - use the Web search capability instead.
